With lines like “If I remember this day when the war is through and all the fires that were leading to this/Then I’ll be civil in the corner I was backed into/A lot slower to raise my fist.” The chorus mentions the title of the song saying “Found a world of pain/And cut it to fit in the place of my heart.” Without knowing the perspective and motivations of such lyrics, it’s still meaningful and deserves recognition as most Demon Hunter songs do. The song is lyrically fascinating throughout. “Cut to Fit” wastes no time in great Demon Hunter fashion with fast riffs and screams. The songs stylistically range from the sound of “I Am A Stone” to “I Will Fail You.” However, onward to War, what does it have to offer? What’s most important to point out here is that Peace isn’t just an album of ballads. War handles the heavier side of Demon Hunter, while Peace handles the softer side. The two are musically separated into two categories. So here we are not even two years after Outlive with two brand new albums from the band. With mixed responses, Ryan Clark has continued to showcase his pipes with an impressive vocal range and control. However over the years, Demon Hunter’s sound has slowly transformed from that signature “DH” sound to a cleaner vocal driven sound. “Raining Down” remained #1 at Christian Rock radio for over 9 weeks. There’s really no need for any introduction to these giants. “ War in every breath / Peace in only death.”ĭemon Hunter’s ninth and tenth studio albums arrive just two years after Outlive, which debuted at #1 Independent, #2 Rock Music, #2 Hard Music, #8 Current Albums, and #25 on the Billboard 200 charts. They are linked most prominently by release date and a plainspoken theme: War is filled with aggression and Peace doubles down on melody both are dynamic and diverse standalone offerings. In 2019 the band unveils not one but two brand new full-length albums on the same day. For nearly two decades, Demon Hunter has weathered the changing tides of rock subculture, proving ever resistant to trends, and ever resilient, making music as determined and resolute as the men within the band. The band embraces brazenly transcendent melodies, without apology, while maintaining a defiant heaviness reminiscent of the most timeless of metal music. Demon Hunter is an American metal institution.
